17&18 weeks update

Sorry it has been a few days, I have been super bust between work and school and I haven't had much time to focus on anything. We have had one active baby! Even though the movements are super strong I can feel the baby making flutters! It is a really awesome feeling! Here  are the pictures from the last two weeks! Just a few more days until we find out the gender! Check out my next post for my answers to the old wives tale gender questions and then cast your vote on Facebook!

Gender Old Wives Tales!

I thought it would be fun to let you in on some of these old wives tales when it comes to gender before you vote on whether you think we are having a girl or boy....Look these over then head on over to Facebook and cast your vote!

1. If your legs get really big, you're having a boy. If your legs stay in shape and lean, it's a girl.
My calves have definitely gotten larger...they look MASSIVE- So this one would mean boy!

2. The Chinese Gender Chart claims to have an accuracy rate of over 90%. It is based on how old the mother is at conception and the month that she conceived.
This one is indicative of a boy!

3. Basically you are having a girl if your beauty disappears during pregnancy. It is said that the girl steals the mother's beauty. If you think that pregnancy has never made you look more beautiful, you might just be having a little boy.
My skin has been a lot clearer and looks more glowy... Boy maybe?

4. If the pregnant woman is graceful throughout her pregnancy, she's having a girl. If she becomes clumsy, she's having a boy.
I have gone back and forth on this one, but I am definitely more clumsy than I used to be... could this mean boy?

5. If a pregnant woman prefers to lay on her left side, she's having a boy. If she prefers resting on her right side, she's having a girl.
I have always been a left-side sleep...even still now! Boy!

6. If you had a smooth pregnancy with no morning sickness, it's a boy. If you were sick or felt really nauseous during your pregnancy, count on a girl.
I had no morning sickness and very minimal nausea.... could this mean boy?

7. Are your feet colder now that you are pregnant? If so, you just might be having a boy. If your feet have stayed the same before pregnancy and during, you're having a little girl.
My feet have always been cold, but I feel like they are colder more often and when they are cold they are really cold.... I am unsure about this one, but it is leaning more towards boy.

8. If the hair on your legs has been growing at record speeds, you might be having a boy.
My hair has been growing slower than before... this would be girl on this one.

9. If your hands are constantly dry, it's a boy.
My hands have never really been dry, even before pregnancy. This would be another girl one!

10. Do you feel like your nose is growing and getting wider? If so, you might be having a boy.
I feel like my nose is huge right now....BOY!

11. f you are having headaches, you might be carrying a boy.
For a while there I was getting headaches every day. Now I just get them every so often. could mean boy...

12. It is said that when you can only think of specific names for a boy or a girl, you will have that particularly baby.
This one doesn't really work for us because we have boy and girl names that we LOVE!

13. If the baby's heart rate is above 140 bpm, it is said that the baby will be a girl. If it is under 140 bpm then boy.
Our baby is consistently about 150 bpm... so if this is true then it would be girl.

14. If you are carrying high with a big, round belly, you are having a girl. If you are carrying low with a smaller belly that sticks straight out, it's a boy.
My belly appears to be low and I feel like it comes to a point and is not really rounded... could this be an indicator of a boy?

15. People believe that if you are craving salty foods while pregnant, you can count on having a boy. If you crave sweets, fruit, and orange juice, you are having a little girl.
I crave mostly salty and when I do crave sweet, it is usually for something tart or sour... boy maybe?

There is a combination of both, however, mostly it shows boy.... I guess we will find out soon!

My bump is getting a little bigger! Just over 2 weeks until we find out the gender and we can't wait! Hopefully next week there will be a little more to write about!

14 Weeks Update!

There is really nothing new to report this week. We are getting anxious for the big gender ultrasound, we have just less than a month! I seem to have a lot more energy here lately, although I am not sure if that is the second trimester or the new job... or both!

I had to do my glucose test yesterday and I was super relieved this morning when the doctor's office called me back to tell me it was NEGATIVE! Yay!!!!!!

My belly is starting to pooch a little, I will start posting the bump pictures on facebook soon!

Well that's all folks! See you next week!

13 weeks update!

This week was pretty much easy peasy. Not much happened this week. Yesterday we did go to the perinatologists office. My doctor recommended that I go see one because of a chance of chemical exposure at work. The appointment went great and the doctor said everything looked absolutely perfect. They took about 30 pictures of every part of the baby. It was cool to see every part of the baby. We got to see all the chambers of the heart, the brain, the bones in the arms and legs, and the spine. It was so neat!

Not much else to report this week other than I am starting to not feel as tired as often... which is great! See you next week, and in the mean time, enjoy the pictures!

Week 12 Update

I plan to update weekly via this blog. It is easier for me to do and then I can keep a good record for myself!

This week was a little bumpy. Thursday I landed in the ER with what was the worst pain I have ever felt. I felt like someone was trying to pull my insides out from the outside. I was in so much pain I couldn't breathe so I called the doctor and they said to go into the ER. In the ER, they gave me pain meds....glorious pain meds. After they kicked in, they had the ultrasound tech come check the baby. Everything checked out ok and we got to see our baby! This time it looked like an actually baby and it was awesome! Our little bean had its fingers in its face and its little legs were crossed. It was fabulous!

Since everything checked out, aside from excess glucose in my urine, they went ahead and discharged me and I had to follow-up at the doctor's office the next day. So on Friday, we met with the doctor, the heartbeat sounded great and everything checked out again, aside from having too much glucose in my urine again. The doctor seemed worried about this since all of my samples have been like this and it's too early for this to be happening. So I get to do the lovely glucose test at my next appointment...lovely right?

At the end of our appointment we went ahead and scheduled our gender ultrasound... Which will be April 10th. We are so excited and I am anxiously counting down the days! Just less than 7 weeks!

That's it for this week. I hope you all get as much excitement out of reading our posts as I do sharing them!  See you in the next trimester (since today marks the last day of the first)!
